The Hurkes name has been in the Implement business now for a little over 85 years. It has seen changes in its 85 years here in the eastern South Dakota community, from its first building in 1925 which was J.I. Case Threshing Company. Opened and operated by Grandfather Charlie Hurkes. After World War II, Charlie's sons Richard and Ed Hurkes took over the Hurkes Implement 1921business. Richard and Ed continued to farm the family land and run the Implement dealership. To make sure the family legacy continued in the Implement business, Richards sons helped out as soon as they were able.
